So my good buddy growing up tied the knot this past weekend at Bordeleau
Vineyard in Eden, Maryland to his lovely girlfriend of seven years Ashley.
It was a drizzling day, but as soon as the beautiful Bride went to walk
down the isle the clouds broke, and we had a great sunset session. Then it
lead into a night filled with dancing, breakfast for dinner and delicious

Wow what a wedding this was, Jason and Marisa Miller tied the knot this past
Saturday at her sisters beautiful estate in Nithsdale! We had the honors of using
Yard Designs owner Bryan LeCompte's backyard for the bride and grooms portraits! We
all enjoyed the fun and amazing scenery it had to offer. The groom arrived by boat
to the sunset ceremony on the water. The two exchange vows and rings in front of
their guests and were wisked away by boat with the wedding party right behind them.
Once the couple arrived toasts were made, dances were had, cookies were cut, and a
good time was had by all. A special thanks to Yard Designs for letting us
shoot amazing portraits!

Dew Tour 2011 Ocean City, Maryland. Pantech Open

I, Kyle Hughes, of Next Wave Studios was hired by Pantech to photograph the very first Dew Tour ever held in Ocean City. The Dew Tour hit Ocean City on July 21 as a large crowd of spectators gathered on the local beach in the scorching heat to watch the event. I was able to spend a few hours each day of the tour photographing Pantechs new and upcoming mobile devices along with the contenders. Pantech was an awesome sponsor for the 2011 Ocean City Dew Tour and offered a new experience to everyone in Ocean City, Maryland.

Next Wave Studios traveled to Dover the past weekend to photograph Matt and Katie’s wedding. The ceremony took place in a large catholic church and was followed by pictures at the golf course. I was lucky enough to borrow a chair from A Change of Space, a local Ocean City furniture store. The chair matched the bridal colors perfectly and was used to take photos of the wedding party. It was a great time, congratulations!

Angela, a friend of my sister Kelly, came back to town to visit family and made arrangements to have her children photographed. The photos were taken in Grandma’s backyard and in Salisbury on the Wicomico River. It was a great day with beautiful weather and the girls were a pleasure to photograph.

The Ocean City Air Show preview day was held over the weekend of June 10th. I spent the weekend hanging out on the beach taking photos of the planes practicing just miles above the ocean. The official show was two days long and took place during warm weather and clear skis. A few new performers were present this year displaying the B-2 Stealth Bomber for the first time. The OC Air Show turned out to be a success with great performers and beautiful weather.

Tara and Willie Zimmerman, two Ocean City locals, were married last weekend on the golf course at Ocean City Golf and Yacht Club. The day began early with a photo shoot at one of West Ocean Cities hideaway beaches after we headed over to Harborside for drinks with friends. We proceeded to the gold course for more photos before the ceremony and reception. The traditional Ocean City wedding had natural light and orange crushes flowing for hours, it was a blast.

Jamie and Jim had their engagement photos recently taken in downtown Easton in several locations throughout town. It was one of the first times I shot in the downtown area and it turned out awesome. The couple was photographed in front of the old courthouse, the park, and the families funeral home. It was fun taking fun photos on the equipment at the park and playing with their puppy. The fun didn’t end after Wilmington, North Carolina the day after I landed the Worcester Youth and Family Service’s team captured me to raise money for child abuse. I was placed on a barge in the marina with several others to raise money for my release or else walk the plank into the bay. Next Wave Studios raised $1200 allowing me to be released to land. I would like to thank Hooper’s Carb House for allowing me to borrow their pirate costume, it was a big hit. Thank you to all those who donated money and time to support WYFS.

Shortly after photographing Callie’s first holy communion, I hurried back to town and left on a plane for Wilmington, North Carolina. The Donaldson family gathered for Grandma’s 85th birthday by renting three townhouses for 30 family members. I was lucky enough to spend time with my sisters family and photograph them on the beach. It wasn’t exactly the right time of day but we decided to photograph them for fun. Kelly and her husband Brian were photographed with their daughter Lyla to capture the memories of their vacation.

Callie, a beautiful young lady celebrated her first holy communion a few weeks ago in Salisbury, Maryland. The photographs were taken in the backyard sanctuary at Brian Lecompte’s home. She wore an elegant sleeveless white gown with lace and a crown made of fresh flowers. We had a great time taking photos outside, even though her frog never turned into a prince.

into the Berlin office of WYFS for a photo session. We shoot a variety of

On Saturday, November 28, 2010 I took a day to visit one of my good friends, Brandon, on his farm in lower Delaware. He showed me around as I photographed several baby chicks and buildings throughout the farm property. This is our first Pin-up ever shoot. Lindsay Borow started shooting
weddings and events with me this past summer. She has a amazing eye with
no real photography training.

Lindsay came to me with the idea to photograph her as a pin-up girl, as way to
show of her love for art and photography. We had a blast on a warm
fall day in October.

For the people who dont know what "Pin-ups" are here is a little background
....

They came from different eras, from 1910 until the 1960’s. They were
beautiful, alluring, and represented the “ultimate woman.” Pin-up girls
were posters that represented every man’s dream of the perfect woman!

These pin-ups graced the lockers of high school boys, calendars, and the
Americansoldiers of World War II’s bunk rooms. Far from home, the G.I.’s
treasured pin-up girl posters; they gave the soldiers something beautiful and sexy
to see instead of their all-male comrades, not to mention the misery and
graphic violence of war. Several sources cite the top three pin-up girls
as Betty Grable posing in a one-piece bathing suit, Marilyn Monroe’s
revealing skirt “blow up” from The Seven Year Itch, and Farrah Fawcett as
she appeared in TV’s “Charlie’s Angels.”

It was the first wedding the studio has ever offered the Crazy Booth to and it went over great. Happy 1st Birthday Lyla Roberts!!!

Lyla’s 1st birthday celebration began last week with a birthday photo shoot. Lyla was photographed with a chocolate birthday cake and my labor-doodle, Maggie. She was given her first taste of chocolate cake and the opportunity to make a mess. The messy cake pictures turned out great but Lyla was not very happy about getting icing all over. I was able to use Maggie in the pictures to cheer Lyla up by licking her fingers and toes causing her to giggles and smile. The photos were later displayed at Lyla’s first birthday over Memorial Day weekend.

David and Dee's wedding was held on May 1, 2010 at the gorgeous home of David's parents, located on the St. Martin's River in Ocean Pines. The ceremony took place on a wonderful spring day on the rooftop terrace allowing me to take many great photos. On this day, the couple united two families together to become one with seven great children that were all present for the wedding. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful family and couple that were so full of life. The photos taken throughout the day truly captured the emotion and passion of a perfect wedding.
